Dog Days

Wearing:
Club Monaco silk dress, Vintage belt, Aldo shoes,
Thrifted bag, Wilfred camisole, Birks bangle, necklace from artisan in Maui
As I was on my way out the door to do an outfit shoot, I caught sight of my poor doggy standing in the hallway looking so sad and forlorn that I decided to cheer him up and take him along for the shoot.
I certainly didn’t enjoy the weather at all (think rain, wind, little remnants of snow on the ground from earlier in the day…yuck) but he loved it.  He especially loved jumping into the river and then dragging his wet body through piles of dirt and mud.  It was simply deeeeeelightful cleaning him up afterwards!
I went and saw Elizabeth Gilbert speak last night and it was so incredibly inspirational.  I first read Eat, Pray, Love last year during a time in my life that can only be described as an exceptionally low point…I can not stress enough how her story affected and restored me, and it was so special to hear her talk about not only the book itself, but her life and story in more depth.  It was so nice to hear her speak in the exact same voice that I heard in my head while reading the book, and oh my God is she funny…I was stunned by how sharp and witty she is in person.  I’m sure all of you have already read Eat, Pray, Love, but if you somehow haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favor and pick it up!  Hopefully you’ll be as moved by it as I was.

I know I'm probably the last person who haven't read "Eat,Pray,Love" because of the hype and the movie and everyone's talking about it. It's so nice that you get to see her talk though! xxooxoxo

I'm not into romantic silly books and the movie did not help change my mind. However, I might actually read the book after few friends recommended it and said its much better than the movie.

love your dress and adorable dog is one of my favorite breed.

Alex, my gosh do you ever rock that silk dress and lace-up kicks! however you are tricked out is always something that causes my eyes to melt like a hershey's treat – tasty & delight filled…you sugarface you!

i'm so glad you brought company along that day, he looks so happy for a walk time. what a darling! but big gasps, you saw Elizabeth Gilbert – oh man, i'd kill to have gone to that. i've read her books and loved them. her appearances on Oprah were the 1st time i heard her speak and agree about your take on that infectious, endearing nature she encompasses.

thanks for giving me mass giggles from your comment on my Ry-Ry love sesh! i totally understand the SC passions too, after-all he's always sporting the perfect amount of stubble and with James as your papa, how can you go wrong?!

yah to the end of April, can't wait to see you again. the happy wine glass will ride high that day ; )
