As promised, here's my curly hair tutorial! Using my little miracle worker aka my new José Eber clipless curling iron (which comes with three wand sizes), I'm able to achieve a head of curls in under five minutes. Literally. It's pretty crazy. I honestly turn on the power button and watch the heat climb to 180 degrees within 25 seconds (though it can go up to 200 for thicker tresses), then I spend about 7 seconds per curl. I do have exceptionally fine hair (proof: one bobby pin can hold up a whole top knot), but still, that's pretty damn fast.
I used to never bother with styling my hair, mostly because my hair wouldn't hold a curl and I didn't have the energy or desire to spend the requisite 30 minutes with a dangerously hot iron right next to my face (i.e. my meal ticket!!! ...yeah, that hasn't worked out for me yet) only to achieve a semi-curl. I'm notoriously lazy when it comes to hair/makeup so anything that makes the process fun rather than tedious is definitely up my alley.
Read on to see how I speed through to my beachy curls, and if you want one of these little styling wonders for yourself, mosey on over to José Eber - the lovely people there are giving you 15% off your purchase if you use the code VOUGUE15 at the online shop!

Done! One thing I wanted to note that I didn't mention in the step-by-step is that when you move on over to the other side of your head, slip the glove on to the other hand in work in the exact same way, with the iron in the opposite hand, pointing down and angled towards your back.
Hope you all liked the tutorial! And now I'm off to work, one more day before Canada Day long weekend, eek can't wait! Especially because I'm finally feeling better today...praise the heavens above!!!
Oh and PS the lovely ladies at The Backseat Stylers featured me in their Canadian street style lookbook today - check it out here!
Happy weekend everyone :)

lovely! and congrats on the feature!

Great tutorial - I'm totally going to give this a try!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair like this!!! It looks so wonderful all curly, it's awesome that this curling iron works so quickly. I hate spending more than 10 minutes on my hair so I am all for fast working hair styles
ReplyDeleteGod I love your hair!!! I need to get a curling wand...and a glove lol. I have a regular curling iron. Also I need to spray the crap out of my hair bc curls DO NOT hold in my hair. I also love using the Arrojo Set & Style while styling my hair bc it helps hold whatever style i do. Also patience is key...which i barely have lol Can you come over and do mine for me??? lol

So jealous! That would never work for my hair. The lowest I let me curling iron go is 335 F! I have crazy thick hair. Your hair looks beautiful either way, and I know it's nice to have options!
ReplyDeletelove it! perfect curls!

I cannot get over how amazing your hair looks, pally! Sadly, a wand that only goes up to 200 degrees wouldn't do much more than warm up my ridiculously thick hair (my top knot? Needs about 26 bobby pins, thank-you very much.) but it is working wonders for you. Hope you'll be sporting these gorgeous curls for some much deserved long weekend fun. Miss you!

great tutorial alex! i have had the most success using a flat iron to create curls but have heard wonderful things about the clamp-less iron!

Wow! I can't believe you can curl your whole head in under 5 minutes! That iron is amazing and the curls are gorgeous. For the record, I don't think your regular hair is boring at all. You've got great hair, curly or straight!
