Buffalo dress, Urban Outfitters clutch, H&M flats, Club Monaco bracelet, vintage necklace c/o Shoppalu
This week, FASHION Magazine asked the Style Panel how we would style an outfit for an event that didn't have a clearly stated dress code. Though technically the smart thing to do would be to go for neutrals and pack both heels and flats, I'm a big believer in the fact that you could wear just about anything, and as long as you feel most comfortable in it, you'll look entirely fine. Given that I'm such a skirt, dress and colour person, I would definitely opt for a femme silhouette nine times out of ten in a punchy colour (cue in: this dress). Dressier flats like these sparkly H&M flats would either give the outfit a pared-down chic vibe at a dressier affair or a polished look at a more casual event.
Eek I have been having the worst sleeps all week and I keep waking up later than I should because of it! Must run off to work now, hope you all have an amazing hump day!

Love it!! I am so jealous of all these awesome Style Challenges- you knock it out of the ball park every time :)
ReplyDeleteThat's actually a really good tip. I think it is true that if you really feel comfortable in what you're wearing it'll work. I mean--minus PJs to a nice dinner :p.

Oh pally, you have such a different take on this kind of challenge than pretty much anyone else I know - my gut reaction would have been black, black and more black :) I'm loving the pops of turquoise you added to this ensemble to contrast with the purple and red of your dress. And you know how I feel about those sparkly flats. I would own them myself if only H&M had my size! Hope your sleep improves soon, my lovely pal. Missing you!

Totally agree! If you feel comfortable, then you feel confident. You can pretty much rock anything if you've got the right attitude. Besides, with such a pretty face, why would anyone ever object to how you look?
ReplyDeleteGreat colour palette! It just oozes summer.
