Been Trying to Meet You

Booties c/o ECCO, H&M skirt, Pixies concert T, arrow bracelet, necklace
& leather cuff c/o Poshlocket, assorted bracelets (Club Monaco, Birks)

Finding this Pixies concert T from '04 at the bottom of my "comfy clothes" drawer was the most amazing surprise. Hands down, that concert was the best one I've ever been to and uncovering this memento entirely flooded my mind with memories of the show:

Drinking a 2 litre bottle of cheap red wine in bushes outside of the concert with my friends (I was 17, okay?), getting caught by a cop-on-bike drinking said wine illegally (and "flirting"/slurring my way out of him pouring it all out), crowdsurfing and losing all of my stuff, helping some weird girl find her "book" that she'd been working on that had devolved into ratty shreds of paper spewed across Plaza of Nations during the concert...all in all, it was pretty much the most amazing thing ever. Oh and PS...my favourite Pixies song ever - check it!

Anyway, my ridiculously degenerate high school memories aside, I felt like it was the perfect T to team up with this bubble-hem H&M skirt (another item that had hidden itself in the depths of my closet). I paired the look with the most comfortable booties I've ever worn from ECCO's Sculptured 65 line (seriously, I wore them all over town after this shoot and my feet have never been happier) and a whole lot of silver jewellery.

Can't believe it's Friday already! Matt and I are going to do one of our little bike trips and then other than that, who knows...the sun's still going strong so lately it feels like at least the city is our oyster. And on that last note, today is the last day to enter the Keltie Leanne Designs giveaway! The winner will be chosen at midnight and announced over the weekend!

Happy Friday!

  9. I had a good laugh reading this, though I had those moments earlier since drinking beer or wine was legal here at the age of 16 (back then, now I think it's 18). But it sounds like a night to remember and we all have those, right?! You look lovely! xo, Christina

  11. Oh my god, that story was so entertaining. Ahh to be a young punk again! I definitely had a few evenings that sounded fairly similar to that, except it was 40's of black label (EWEWEW) and we got ticketed by the police.
I love the old band tee with this skirt, absolutely wonderful combination. This skirt is sooo great!

I always love your hilarious high school punk stories, pally - I can't wait for the day that your homeless friend Mickey gets a spot on the blog :) Seriously, though, the old Pixies tee is a true classic, and a great match with your H&M skirt. Looks like you've been having fun in the sun as always. Miss you, girl!

  27. I love that t-shirt. Old concert gems are the best, especially when they have misguided youthful memories behind them. I have a pretty good one from The whitestipes, will never forget the first and only time I stayed at the Cambie, at 15 nonetheless.

  28. AMAZING. At least you were classy enough to be drinking wine. I love rediscovering old band t shirts that have been washed so many times they're paper thin and SO soft. Glad you decided to bust it out.
