This week the telltale nip of fall was finally ushered in – for the first time in months, only a tiny window crack was needed at night, and I finally broke out the fuzzy woolen socks I always need during the cooler months (I have icicle extremities like…all the time). I haven’t worn a sweater let alone a coat since April, but I finally had a good enough reason to break out one of my favourite pieces ever: this Club Monaco colour-block coat is definitely a fall-time staple for me, and its chic trapeze silhouette and contrasting neutrals never fail to elevate any casual look. Since I’m definitely not ready to let go of the summer quite yet, some punchy shorts and strappy heels kept the sunshine vibe going.
Loving my new necklace from The Altered Chain too – its dainty brass pendant made it perfect for layering with a couple other favourites of mine from Keltie Leanne and Charles & Grace.
Just an FYI, never watch Snow White and the Huntsman…maybe I’m just not that into KStew but holy fudge there’s two hours of my life I’ll never get back. You were warned!
Loved that last paragraph about Snow White and the Huntsmen – too funny. You are the only person I know who could pull off shorts and coat, pally, and you do it with flair. Always love this Club Monaco gem, ever since you wore it to our first blogger meet-up! Time flies 🙂 Miss you, girl.

Love the look! but I have a question… do you find it a "don't do" to wear a jacket longer than your shorts? This came up last summer between friends and it was mixed. I don't think it looks bad at all in your photo above but I've worn something before where it looked really odd.

Oh, so good to know that Snow White and the Huntsman isn't a good movie! I've never been a ban of Kristen Stewart (I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't like Twilight). This outfit is great transition look too. I love the punch of colour your cute polka dot shorts add to your look.
