Printing

Jeans c/o Gap, bag c/o Roots, bracelet c/o Poshlocket, Club Monaco blouse,
H&M sweater, Timberland boots, necklace c/o Blackbird

This week's FASHION Magazine Style Panel Q was all about pattern mixing, or more accurately, how to go about pattern mixing in a way that isn't daunting for print-clash-newbies. Really, in my opinion it comes down to just finding the one unifying factor in two prints: be it colour, pattern size, or even the pattern itself (I love a good stripe-on-stripe look), all that's needed to make two different prints work together is one little piece of cohesion. For this look, both the shared linear element of the blouse and sweater's prints and the neutral tones of both made them a natural match. And when in doubt, I pretty much treat leopard and stripes as a neutral - they can go with just about anything.

My older sister shot all the looks for me so far this week - she's pretty good, n'est-ce pas? I really think she should get a camera for Christmas so that she can keep expanding her photography skills (hint, hint Santaaaaaaa).

Hope you're all having a wonderful hump day - gawd, I love a good long weekend, not only does it extend the weekend, but it also shortens the week! Can't believe it's Wednesday already!

  7. I love this sedate pattern mixing - usually the term calls to mind loud prints and spring/summer dressing and I just love the fall spin you put on it.
