Happy 2013 everyone! I had so much fun ringing in the new year...maybe (definitely) way too much fun, and I certainly paid for it the next day. Even still, like every year, I managed to do the Running Room Resolution Run and the Penguin Plunge. The run was rough and the water was freezing, but I'm a big believer in starting your year off right! Just a tip for the next time you know you'll probably be hungover the next day: don't do a crazy workout the day before. On top of feeling less than amazing, I could hardly move at all yesterday thanks to an insanely intense weight-lifting workout I did on the 31st!
On a more sartorial note, I feel like a little touch of sparkle is a great way of welcoming the new year...worn casually with dark neutrals and sleek silhouettes, this adorable sequin top from J.Crew works perfectly for day!

Wow, the fact that you ran AND did a polar bear dip while being hungover = major props to you! I stayed in yoga pants and made chili. Ha! I love this top, the dots & the sparkle made it so fun! Happy 2013, lady!

Happy 2013!! I love this look, the sparkles with a more casual look are absolutely perfect!! You are quite brave for doing the run and that plunge especially while hungover, thats inspiring. I did an intense workout on the 31st as well, only managed to take my dog for a nice long walk yesterday though.

I was eyeing the same top on the J. Crew website, but talked myself out of it because 1) I own too many polka dot things already, and 2) I usually find sequins scratchy. It looks great on you though!

My New Years Eve was awesome! We danced non-stop and that felt like a good workout on it's own - my legs hurt so bad the next day. I am in love with the whole ensemble. It's great for a casual day out/coffee date/movie date - any occasion really!
