Sometimes, it’s the littlest things that can rekindle inspiration. For me, my little sparks of style inspo came from a 2 for 1 special at LUSH for their Emotional Brilliance line: I took their colour therapy spin test and picked out a bright orange and pink (you’ll see the latter make an appearance later this week). I’ve always been a bold lip girl but oranges have always intimidated me, so I was particularly excited to have chosen “Strong,” a perfect fiery orange shade. As soon as I slicked it on, it felt both familiar and exciting…something that both fit seamlessly into my routine but also offered a bit of new inspiration.
Anyway, I really wanted to let the orange pop, so I picked up the warm tone with a touch of red and other than that, kept the visual interest in this look on prints rather than colour. I just rediscovered these slouchy Club Monaco trousers and love their laid-back vibe paired with something more glitzy, like this sequin top.
Mercifully, it’s been way warmer lately, so I not only was able to get away with just a cape on, but I also got to take advantage of the beautiful and milder weather this past weekend by having a really great “staycation” of sorts. Matt and I took the whole weekend off and just relaxed at home, went for runs, took Bailey out for walks and ate. So nice.
