Recently, The Style Common did a fun little date-night-themed styling session. One thing I love about our group is that we really represent a lot of diversity, whether it's through our styles or our body types. I, for one, have a hybrid-type body: strong and athletic but also very distinctly hourglass. Read on to see my tips for dressing for a date night for an athletic figure, and be sure to check out Alicia, Jen T and Jen P's tips as well on their blogs!

Athletic Femme

Thanks to all the running, weight-training and swimming I do, I have muscles I don't mind showing off. An asymmetrical hemline (also known as a mullet dress, but that's such an unappealing way of describing such a beautiful silhouette) is the perfect way of showcasing my hard-earned muscular legs, while a delicate neckline shows off my shoulders and arms! A few added inches in height, a dash of animal print, some metallic intrigue via some rose gold accessories and I'm good to go! Whether it's a date with my man or a girls night, I'm set!

Outfit Details:
Dress, Nine Bird c/o Fossello's
Shoes c/o ShoeMint
Clutch, BCBG
Bracelet & Necklace c/o Poshlocket

  6. Yeah girl, show off those awesome legs!
I'm an athletic girl myself, so I'm not petite and have muscular tone - which is why I love how you dress and look so gorgeous all the time. Totally inspiring! :)

  8. You four look absolutely fabulous. I love the color of your dress. I need to be a little bit more creative with my date night outfits instead of just jeans and a "nice blouse". The vibrant colors that you infuse into your outfits are truly inspiring. Thanks for doing such a great job with your blog!
