Taste of Yaletown

Though I’m currently exploring all the beauty that there is in Greece, if I was back in my lovely hometown of Vancouver this coming week there’s only one place I’d be: Yaletown for the incredible Taste of Yaletown, running tomorrow the 15th until the 29th! Fortunately, though I’m not there in person I got to experience a little preview of what Vancouverites can expect, and it was amazing – click through to see it all and to get all the details!

La Pentola
After a relaxing session at Dharma Yoga (one of the things I love about Yaletown is how literally everything you could possibly need or want is all within walking distance!), one of my best friends Emaan and I meandered over to the beautiful La Pentola for a truly amazing Italian meal. We got to try out their Taste of Yaletown dinner menu (available for $45, with a featured lunch menu at $25) and it honestly blew us away. Their famous parmesan soufflé was every bit as amazing as I remembered it being (this wasn’t my first La Pentola experience), but the taglierini, skirt steak and the lemon cream also still have me dreaming about this incredible meal.
Before dinner at Simply Thai, we wandered around and took advantage of what this incredible neighbourhood has to offer. From sweet treats from Swedish import Karameller (well worth a visit) to snapping pics of the beautiful brick-heavy architecture around the neighbourhood to a quick visit to The Cross to swoon over their amazing decor, Yaletown’s such a great place to while away an afternoon.
Simply Thai

By the time Matt took Emaan’s place and we got to Simply Thai for dinner, we were good and hungry, which was exactly what we needed to be because we were lucky enough to get to try both their Traditional Thai featured dinner and the Western-Inspired featured dinner. Let’s just say we were completely stuffed but very happy by the end of it – personal favourites were the beautiful violet-coloured Cho Muang dumplings and the delicious Tom Yum Goong (my favourite and my go-to when sick), all part of their $35 featured dinner menu (such great value!).
All you need to do now is mark your calendars and refer to Yaletown’s Taste of Yaletown resource page for all the menus, numbers and info you need. Get out there and take in all that Yaletown has to offer, Vancouver! Taste of Yaletown is only here for two weeks so make the most of it!
