I like to think of this look as a modern fusion of Elaine Benes (a personal hero) meets 19th-century British newsboy, complete with a little newscap. Matt and I had planned for a relaxing day at Granville Island and I wanted to stay as comfortable (and warm) as possible, so of course the precious cargo that is my mind had to be protected from the cold with this ever-so-slightly-ridiculous H&M men's find.

At any rate, the laid-back vibe of the outfit worked as a good backdrop for some lovely new gold pieces from Brooklyn Designs - especially loving my dainty gold bracelet with pavé detailing, particularly when paired with this red stone-studded gold bracelet I had bought during my heyday as a braces-wearing, bushy-browed 15-year-old living in Saint-Émilion. I actually wish I could find old pics of myself to show you me in my teenage glory days (read: the most unattractive years of my life), but I can't find them anywhere. When and if I do find them though, there's one really special gem of me wearing fake blue contacts and eating my poisson en chocolat de Pâques (Easter fish made of chocolate) with a lot of gusto.

Anyway, today I'm definitely doing something the 15-year-old me probably never envisioned: I'll be walking in the Vancouver Home + Design Show's Style Friday fashion show sponsored by Park Royal, and I have the pleasure to be taking part in it alongside several other Vancouver bloggers including her waise choice, Prairie Girl in the City, LittleFashionisto and Two Sevenths. I'll be doing a recap next week, so stay tuned! I love my outfit from what I could tell during the fitting and am excited to share a few snaps of it!
