Fall Transitional Dressing

Top and shorts c/o Splendid, necklace, cuff and rings c/o Lia Sophia, H&M booties, Marc by Marc Jacobs bag
This week’s Style Panel for FASHION Magazine was all about fall transitioning, which if my last post was anything to go off of, I’m not that crazy about. Since I can’t deny that it is getting cooler out though, I have started employing a few tricks to keep the cold at bay while still being summer-apropo.
Like I mentioned yesterday, the wonderful Cali-based retailer Splendid just opened up in Pacific Centre in Vancouver and I am beyond excited to visit, especially given this amazing preview in the form of some of their amazing summer pieces. Their loosely knit sweater has been particularly incredible during this environmental transitional period – I’ve been wearing it with a bralette underneath for the most part right now, but as it gets colder outside (wah) I’ll start layering tanks/shirts.
One of my best friends Nashlyn is visiting from Van right now – so much fun! We’ll hopefully take her around the whole city, which will give us a nice final tour ourselves!
Happy Wednesday everyone!

I actually love fall transition dressing, it's so sad when summers over but I just love fall fashion. This sweater is so gorgeous, I love it with the shorts, definitely a great piece

Over here I hope that summer is staying a bit because so far we hadn't had much of it!

That's a great sweater and I imagine it would work really well as a fall transitional piece – adds a little warmth but definitely not bulky.

buh fall cooler nights are boogus! i'm not a fan! so sad we have to start layering. on my nightly bike ride at the cottage last night I had to layer up with a long sleeve shirt….first time i've had to do that all summer! oh well at least come the fall we get to layer lovely new outfits! and i'm loving the jade and cobalt blues coming up this fall!

I really feel for you as you transition into winter. Living in Florida, there's really no transitioning as we have wonderful weather all year round. It does get a little cooler in Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb but nothing like when I lived in Canada. It really only dips down to 22 degrees Celsius–still warm enough to wear anything we want. You may laugh but we find this quite chilly and use it as an excuse to pull out our nice scarves, pants, and light sweaters.

I've visited Vancouver about 6 times in my life and I love the moderate climate there. I'm guessing you won't be suffering too much. 🙂

The sheer sweater is definitely one of my favourite transition pieces… and yet, ironically, one I've had a really hard time finding this year. Maybe I could break my shopping diet for a trip to Splendid? I'm seriously considering it, because this piece is beyond perfect. Loving your floral shorts, too.

Can I just say, for the thousandth time, how excited I am that you're coming home? I've missed you, my lovely pal.

You and I should trade places because I love cold weather. We can do it Parent Trap style. You'll take my place in the States and I'll take yours in Canada.

Just let's not do the piercing ears with a safety pin scene.
