Full disclosure: as much as I know the risks of getting too much sun, I just honestly don’t think I could ever spend my summers avoiding the sunshine entirely. My parents are both beach bums, my siblings are beach bums, my childhood summer memories all involve us being at the beach (and obviously, that theme has carried on for all of us into adulthood). I want to be as sun safe as possible but the fact of the matter is that playing in the ocean is just too much a part of me, and being on the ocean means getting some sun (unless you wear something like this).
I try my best to be diligent about wearing sunscreen but if any of you have sensitive skin like me, then you know all too well how wearing sunscreen liberally can lead to irritation. It’s either the natural route, skimping on wearing it regularly (always a bad call) or finding a luxurious sunscreen that’s not only efficient but feels amazing too. RoC’s Invisible Touch line is the latter option for me – it smells amazing, feels great and zero sensitivity! The French brand’s sunscreen also comes in a handy amotiser, which makes it all the more easy to ‘screen up. Also love the lip balm – so important to take care of your lips too! The perfect thing to take away on my weekend trips, along with this adorable O’Neill swimsuit – love the print!
Speaking of being beach-ready, I’m almost a little sad to post these pics today because I feel like this may be one of my last truly summery posts. I’ve noticed lately that the days shortening, I need to grab a sweater on the way out and I can just feel a pull toward the fall. I have my fingers crossed in a major way that my intuition’s wrong and that we get a long, late summer because unlike most people who live in Canada, I could not care less about the colder months (cue in my dream to move to Australia one day). Anyone else beginning to feel those end-of-summer blues?

You're looking fit and fabulous as always my dear!! And so happy you did a post on staying sun safe, it's so important for everyone. I have a slight sun allergy (so bizarre) so suncreen is a serious necessity in my life

Wow, you look GORGEOUS in that swimsuit! Killer! I agree on the sadness to let summer go…I can see the days getting shorter, and the last thing I want to do is head back to school during the fall. I do miss my sweaters, though, hehe.

It's good that since you're in the sun a lot that you take care of your skin! I try to remember to put sunscreen on whenever I can too!

Thanks for the tips. Got my legs burned bad a few weeks back and will not do that again. And how lovely you are. And that third picture?!?! Oh my! Thank you so much for that, dear. Perfection!

Girl, your bod! I've got to start working out…

I'm anal for sun safety. I use a completely organic SPF 30 on my face, and Coppertone sport for my body. I lotion the hell out of my skin before and after sun exposure to lock moisture in. I burn easily and I'm paranoid about sun safety, my friends get a little annoyed I think but it's only out of the goodness of my heart!
