This blog covers a lot of my passions but for whatever reason, it isn’t really a home for probably my greatest passion in life: music (maybe something to change in the future?). Whether it’s playing or listening, music has always been such an important part of my life, and I can really and truly break down my whole life to a soundtrack. Living in France? The Jam and T. Rex. My first year working full-time on the blog? Ty Segall and FIDLAR. Or maybe running off to New York at 16 with my best friend Christin and having the best time ever—that was all Metric, their Old World Underground, Where Are You Now? album specifically. So naturally, when Canadian label RUDSAK partnered with frequent collaborator Emily Haines (Metric’s lead singer and one of my longest-standing girl crushes), I was all over styling up this stunning leather jacket. But this jacket is more than what meets the eye (and what meets the eye is some serious style)—click through to see it all!

The jacket’s boyfriend blazer cut and slim fit already make it a true style staple (and can we talk about this detachable fringe?) but Emily wanted to add another element to it to suit her rock ’n’ roll, constantly on-the-go lifestyle—she added a detachable clutch that literally zips into the killer metallic lining in two parts within the jacket. Wear all your essentials while you’re on the run, zipping it out and keeping your go-to’s (passport, mirror, change, cards, etc) close to you in style.
I am kind of in love with the idea of pairing this jacket with more similarly femme or delicate dresses (I think this would look killer with a boho floral dress) but it’s such a perfect piece for travelling actually—you can lose the detachable fringe for the sake of easy security check-throughs but once you’ve landed in your destination, simply swap out your cozies for a skinny-jean-and-tee combo, some ankle boots and I personally would add the fringe back. Zip out that clutch and you can literally go from plane to wherever in style.
Shop this killer leather jacket on RUDSAK’s online shop here and if you haven’t given Metric a listen in the past, find them on Spotify here—you won’t be disappointed!
A big thank you to RUDSAK for partnering with me for this post.
