When in doubt: a broken-in pair of skinny jeans, a clean-cut blazer, a breezy sheer silk blouse, a slouchy leather bag, layered jewelry and simple pumps. Oh, and no-fuss, blown-out hair, a classic pair of sunnies and a touch of lippie. 

Part of the reason that I gravitate to delicate jewelry is that the piled-upon accessories aspect of this look is the factor that takes the whole thing from boring to classic chic. It's why I'm just a little obsessed with Brooklyn Designs' latest line of dainty necklaces, earrings and bracelets - you hardly have to even think as you pile it on, though the end result always looks purposeful and chic. The horseshoe-shaped Rowan necklace is a particular favourite of mine: anyone who knows me well knows I'm crazy superstitious (I found a penny on the road the other day and told at least 8 people about what great luck I had chanced upon...which is really weird), so I have a little feeling this necklace will be around my neck lots. 

I have a great week lined up: next week will be a busy week for The Style Common (stay tuned), so we have a couple meetings to hammer out some last-minute details, a fun event or two to attend and some special me-time already penciled in. I haven't sat down by myself and watched a movie, painted my nails, had a nice glass of wine and read a magazine in ages. I'm making a promise to myself to book some time tonight in for that, and I seriously can't wait! How do you like to unwind when you're taking some alone time?
