I don’t know if you can tell, but these pictures were taken literally in nearly pitch black darkness. That’s the thing about winter…it gets dark early and it gets dark quickly! We spent a bit too long lingering around Granville Island drinking tea and as we were walking to our favourite area to shoot, we noticed all the street lamps flicker on. We just immediately looked to each other with a look of dread and scurried off to the brightest place we could find.
Having said that, I couldn’t have timed the purchase of my 6D more perfectly because it is a real saviour when it comes to shooting in dim light (which seems to happen more and more these days, thanks a lot, winter!). Speaking of cameras, thank you so much to everyone who emailed, tweeted, commented or messaged me about yesterday’s Photography 101 post! I’ve had such a great time doing this Blogging 101 series – it’s really challenged me to format all the things that I now do on auto drive on a day-to-day basis and to see the value in the knowledge blogging has given me. As always, never hesitate to reach out with more specific questions!
And with that, I’m signing off at the end of this very busy but lovely week – heading off to Whistler today to have a much-needed visit with some of my favourite girls! Bundling up for freezing weather (but also packing a bikini for wine-and-hot-tub sessions, my favourite). Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Your new camera does an AMAZING job in next to no light…never would have guessed that these pics were taken so late in the evening (which isn't really late at all at this time of year, but you know what I mean!!) Love your fingerless gloves, by the way…I think I'd better dig mine out of my dresser, too!!

LOVE that grey coat. I've been eyeing a similar coat from H&M and you're making me think I NEED it!

Beautiful outfit and photography, like this dim light. It gives some mysterious mood to the whole post!
I so agree with you, a good camera and a good lens can make wonders even when the lightning is sucks. Love your outfit too, coat and hat look so good together.

Enjoy your new camera and have a great weekend!!!
